About Barber National institutes Art Show and Sale

One of the region’s largest and most eclectic art exhibits will soon be here when “Celebrating the Possibilities” opens at the Barber National Institute. The Art Show & Sale that has grown each year with a wide array of expression by adult artists from throughout the region, as well as an always charming display by youth artists. The show opens on Friday, April 13 at 10 a.m. Visitors who want to end their work week with a relaxing evening are invited to a wine & cheese reception from 5 – 8 p.m. The show continues from noon – 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15, when family-friendly activities such as an art project and art scavenger hunt will be offered for children. The final day is Monday, April 16 from 1 – 6 p.m. With more than 500 pieces from adult and youth artists, judges will have a challenge selecting the cash award winners. All visitors will also have their say by casting a ballot for the People’s Choice Awards presented to one youth and one adult artist following the show. Many pieces of artwork are for sale, and the Barber Foundation receives a commission from each purchase. Admission is free of charge, but art enthusiasts are invited to become a Patron or Friend with a donation to the show, and many sponsorship opportunities are also available.
