A Little About Jennifer Dennehy
Jennifer specializes is hoop dance and creative dance. Owner of Kinetic Creativity, enabling dance for all. She is Rostered Artist with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts which has enabled her to work collaboratively with a variety of schools/organizations. Jennifer has been dancing for over 30 years, trained in ballet, modern, tap, jazz, african, hip-hop, hoop and creative dance. Currently, an artist in residence at St. Martin's Center teaching the PA Early Learning Standards to 2 - 5 year olds through creative dance, an artist in residence at Bethesda Trinity Center (after school hoop dance program), artist in residence at Erie Homes for Children and Adults (dance program), and an artist in residence at LifeWorks Erie (creative dance for seniors). Jennifer also teaches a Parkinson's Dance & Movement Class series in the Fall and Spring of each year. Lastly, Jennifer teaches hoop dance classes at Dafmark Dance and the Inner City Neighborhood Art House. In 2010 Jennifer began teaching hoop dance. Fall 2011 she began dancing with Dafmark Dance Company. 2012 she started Lake Effect Hoop Troop and began choreographing hoop dance works. In May 2014 Regional Dance America selected & premiered Terminal Paradox, co-choreographed with Allegra Glinsky. July 2014, Jennifer was one of only 6 dance teaching artists accepted into Luna Dance Institute’s Summer Institute in Berkeley, CA were she further developed her creative dance teaching skills. Jennifer has performed and taught extensively throughout the United States and began teaching internationally in 2016; Locations include Peru, Canada, India, and soon to be Europe (Netherlands, Germany and Finland) during the summer of 2019.
Mission Statement
Jennifer mission is to inspire all people regardless of age or ability to be comfortable moving their bodies in fun and unique dance programs. Programs are customized to target educational, physical, and social/emotional goals for schools, community centers and social service organizations. Jennifer provides creative dance education programs for all populations from infancy through senior citizens and for all abilities. We believe everyone has the right to learn how to utilize the one tool they come into the world with, their body, to their own individual fullest potential. Programs target unserved and underserved populations such as low income inner city youth, seniors, early learners, individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and chronic conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease. These programs are designed to bring dance to people by going into schools, social service organizations, community centers, senior centers and businesses.

Creator and Dance Educator for the Parkinson's Dance & Movement Program Creative Hoop Dance Teacher @ Inner-city Neighborhood Art House & Dafmark Dance Theater Partners in Dance Program Dance Educator; a collaborative residency between Dafmark Dance Theater & Erie Homes For Children and Adults. Past Residencies include, First District Elementary, Union City Elementary, SafeNet, St. Benedict Center, Sarah Reed Children's Center, and South Hills Child Development Center.
