On July 28th, Erie Arts & Culture held a virtual conversation with Gamar Markarian.
This PRO Network webinar covered the many creative methodologies of collecting and representing quantitative and qualitative data when working on artistic projects. Erie Arts & Culture works to ensure that culture and creativity are woven into the fabric of everyday life in our region. Our investments translate into every resident having opportunities to participate in, and benefit from, the arts and humanities - whether socially, educationally, or economically. We are passionate about our work because the arts and humanities help us as people become more creative, self aware, empathetic, and socially responsible.

Whose Story Should Be Told As Part of the Discovery Trail?
Brigette Davitt and Scott Gladd have been assigned eight utility boxes running along Parade Street, starting on East 6th and continuing up to East 14th. The team has also been assigned one box located at the intersection of Holland and East 6th. The artist team wants to dedicate their boxes to those individuals who have devoted themselves to Erie's historic East Side, with a particular focus on those persons who may not have been born in Erie but who chose to make Erie their home.
Do you know someone who would be a great candidate to honor through this public art project? Share your suggestions with Brigette and Scott!

With his guidance, viewers were taught how to give themselves a leg up as an artist in an increasingly competitive and digitally-focused world. You can’t focus on doing everything or you won’t have time to do that craft that you love. What tools make the most sense for you?

Erie Arts & Culture is committed to growing the capacity of our region's creative and cultural professionals. As an agency, we identified financial literacy, the knowledge necessary to make important financial decisions, as one of the key topics that we wish to advance through ongoing educational workshops and webinars. Financial literacy is important because it equips us with a greater understanding of how to manage money effectively. Education in this area builds a foundation for recognizing how our financial decisions and the actions we take—or don't take—impact our current and future success and abilities to achieve our goals.
