Peggy Quinn Clay Studio opens Artlore Studio Show

Peggy Quinn of East Springfield, PA opened her clay studio in the fall of 2020. She creates both functional pottery and decorative works in clay. Her work is primarily wheel-thrown, often with hand-modeled additions.

Much of Peggy's pottery which is heavily influenced by the elegant pottery from the Song Dynasty in China, is on display at Artlore Studio's gallery on West Lake Road until the second week of January. Her pottery is on sale through the gallery show as well as her website peggyquinnclaystudio.com.

Art & Politics: How to Fund Creative Projects by Engaging Stakeholders

On January 6th join Creative Placemaking Specialist and Arts Advocate Kady Yellow for a highly informative one-hour session to learn the nuanced world of stakeholder support and face the age-old challenge of funding your imagination and creativity. Yellow has spoke on similar topics at the Global Mural Conference, Statewide Conference on MI Downtowns, Placemaking Week, and the Creative Placemaking Summit. Yellow will address stakeholder management, how to establish trust and gain supporters for your project and will share key pointers for artists on how to better understand the business of the art world. Yellow will provide behind-the-scenes industry knowledge after working in New York and Los Angeles on how to think through grants, identify opportunities for revenue, and how to navigate the constantly evolving world of arts funding.

Welcoming December's Visiting Artist in Residence, Malcolm Jackson

Erie Arts & Culture welcomes Jacksonville-based street photographer Malcolm Jackson as the agency’s next visiting artist in residence. Malcolm will spend the entirety of December navigating the streets and neighborhoods of Erie's urban core to document community life. Malcolm will meet with students at the Inner City Neighborhood Art House on December 7 to speak with them about his career path and work as a photographer. This visiting artist residency program is made possible through the generous support of a privately funded grant from The Erie Community Foundation.
