THANK YOU ERIE! We are humbled by your generosity during Erie Gives.

Through Erie Gives, Erie Arts & Culture received $125,467 in total donations. This total is a new record for the agency. Of that total, $92,000 was donated by Donna Douglass and the StARTup Incubator. We invite you to read more about the details surrounding this gift below. The rest of the funds originated from our generous community online yesterday. It's because of YOU that we can continue to do the work and serve our sector.

Thank you for being a part of creating a more equitable and culturally vibrant Erie!

The Gift that Keeps on Giving: A Special Thanks to the StARtup Incubator!

Through Erie Gives, Erie Arts & Culture received a $92,000 gift from the StARTup Incubator. This gift will be invested into a newly established sub-fund within the Erie Arts Endowment. Interest earned annually from the StARTup Fund will support in perpetuity two distinct Erie Arts & Culture programs, the CHROMA Guild and the PRO Network.

Erie Arts & Culture manages the Erie Arts & Endowment. The endowment, which is estimated at approximately $3.5M, is composed of 14 sub-funds. The StARTup Fund is the newest fund to be added to the portfolio. Dollars earned through the endowment feed into Erie Arts & Culture's annual grantmaking program, which supports arts and humanities projects in Erie County.

The StARTup Incubator, which launched in 2007, will soon cease to operate. In an effort to further their mission, the Board of the Incubator chose to split their financial assets between Erie Arts & Culture and the Erie County Redevelopment Authority, which earlier this month announced a new grant program to benefit professional artists living and working in Erie County.

Former director, Donna Douglass said:

"Erie Arts & Culture is a perfect fit for StARTup’s assets as we dissolve our nonprofit. The work they’re doing with the Chroma Guild & the PRO Network to build the professional capacity of creative and cultural professionals will carry StARTup’s original mission into the future."

Erie Arts & Culture established the CHROMA Guild in 2019. The program serves to increase access to resources and opportunities for creative and cultural professionals of color in Northwestern Pennsylvania. The PRO Network was established in 2020 after Erie Arts & Culture received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Through the PRO Network, the agency works to dismantle barriers and provide meaningful resources and training for the region's creative and cultural professionals.
