Please give a warm welcome to Jade Mitchell who has joined our team as the Creative Director.

Jade earned a BA in Theatre and Communication Arts from Gannon University, as well as a two-year Post Baccalaureate Certification in Graphic and Web Design from Mercyhurst University. A native of Hopewell, Pennsylvania, Jade chose to stay and make Erie her home after graduation. Since then, she has continued to immerse herself into the region's visual and performing arts. Jade has held design and marketing jobs in the area, most notably as the Graphic Designer and Marketing Specialist at reCAP Mason Jars, a local startup headquartered in the Renaissance Centre.

Through working with a variety of clients, Jade has forged many connections in the Erie community and hopes to make many more through her role with Erie Arts & Culture. Jade is excited to be in a position where she can integrate her love of arts, culture, graphic design, marketing, and creative direction - all while helping others.

“The Erie community has blessed me with numerous opportunities for the last ten years," Jade said. "I’m proud to have made Erie my home, and I feel that this position will enable me to give back to the community and the city I love. Since I have been blessed with so many opportunities, I want to share opportunities and resources with others. I aim to assist in the efforts to make arts and culture opportunities accessible to everyone, regardless of socioeconomic status, age, education, race, or language barriers. I am also excited to get to know new artists, particularly those from diverse backgrounds as part of Erie Arts & Culture’s New Horizons efforts.”

In her spare time, Jade is an active member of the Erie theatre community. She is currently on stage as the Countess Andrenyi in All An Act Theatre’s production of Murder on the Orient Express which runs February 7 - March 1. She is also the owner of an e-commerce brand and event organizer of the Happi Corgi Festival, an annual festival for corgi dog owners and admirers. This whimsical endeavor “makes the world a little more joyful, one ‘happi’ corgi at a time,” Jade said.
