Erie Arts & Culture's staff and Board of Trustees is endeavoring to complete a strategic plan that will guide the agency through 2021. We have contracted Dr. Doug Borwick to facilitate the process.
Dr. Borwick is a leading advocate for community engagement in the arts. He is author of two books, Building Communities, Not Audiences: The Future of the Arts in the U.S., and Engage Now! A Guide to Making the Arts Indispensable. Dr. Borwick is the CEO of ArtsEngaged, which offers training and consultation services to artists and arts organizations who seek to engage with their communities more effectively.
He is also the CEO of Outfitters4, Inc., which provides management services, such as strategic planning, to nonprofit organizations.
Dr. Borwick is also an educator. For nearly 30 years, he has served as the Director of the Arts Management and Not-for-Profit Management Programs at Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC.
