Artist, Teaching Artist
I am an Artist/Metalsmith and life long resident of Pennsylvania.
My artistic roots are in drawing, which is still near and dear to my heart.
In 1988 I entered the art program at Slippery Rock University to take a metal-smithing class.
Six years and one BFA degree later, I established my independent studio in Sharon PA.
Since 1996 I have been a Rostered Artist with "Erie Arts and Culture" and the "Pennsylvania Council on the Arts",
I have worked as an artist in residence in many Middle schools and High Schools
throughout Western PA.(1996-present), designed and produced a line of jewelry for "Wendell August Forge" in Grove City, PA (2000-2002) as well as Christmas Ornaments for "Kraynak's" of Hermitage, PA (2002-2003).
I currently maintain my studio where I design and create metal jewelry for sale at
arts festivals and through my Etsy Shop. dkstudiogal.etsy.com
Metalsmithing, design, and drawing workshops are offered in my studio as well as at the Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts in New Castle PA and for various community groups.
