Sara enjoys teaching Improv Comedy & Movement to students of all abilities and backgrounds.
In addition to finding joy in creating Music Improv Comedy and Contact Improv Movement, Sara finds meaning in helping draw creativity out from her students for their personal transformation. She values the opportunity of supporting others in discovering and expressing their creative voice. She desires to share the knowledge she has gained from NYC, Chicago and Boston to create, collaborate and teach in the Erie community!
The joy Sara discovers through creativity most often stems from improvisation and collaboration. She has danced, sang and created silly characters for as long as she can remember, and gradually learned how to refine the skills required in each of these mediums to share them in performance. As an undergraduate student at Gannon, she loved participating in musicals through the university as well as The Erie Playhouse. Through Physical Acting at Circle in the Square Theatre School in NYC she discovered the expansive art of Improvisation; storytelling without a script! She went on to graduate from The Second City Chicago's Music Improv Conservatory. She has performed throughout Chicago and the Boston area. She studied Contact Improv Movement in both Chicago and NYC. She is the founder of Joy Improv, through which she performs and also teaches Improv Comedy & Movement to students of all abilities. She is available for private and corporate events as well as team building workshops.
