Marquis Wallace is the twenty-first century Renaissance man! He’s a dancer (modern, ballet, jazz, tap) a visual artist (painting, sketching, collage) and writer (currently working on a play). Marquis works in the social service field (employed at Barber Center) and is active as an Entrepreneur and Businessman (owner of Anansi Collaborations LLC. )
His NYC background has provided training in some of NYC’s most highly respected schools including Art & Design HighSchool & the National Academy of Fine Art. While living in NYC he was a company apprentice and youth ensemble member with the Rod Rogers Dance Company. Marquis is presently forging a collaboration between the Rod Rogers Dance Company and Erie Dancers for performances soon to be available to the public. Marquis also studied musical percussion with Speaking in Rhythms Percussion Ensemble.
Marquis’ business training includes an Associate Degree in marketing as well as employment and supervisory experience as the Manager of the Kings Rook Club and previous experiences at PNC Bank, Bush Industries, and the United Refining Company.
Marquis has the unique gift of seeing the world from an original, untainted and comprehensive vantage point that is exciting and full of the amazing energy that is his trademark. His vision is inclusive of all contributors who want to engage in the process of forging interesting, thought-provoking projects that are both fun and yet charged with a serious contemplation regarding our past, present, and future as a human family.
