Gallery Night

It’s like a pub crawl, but with art. Shop, eat, listen to music, and spend time with friends and family while visiting as many local galleries as you can. There’s no better way to get a feel for Erie’s arts scene. Be sure to check out our website for a list of participating galleries.

ART 100 Pop up Gallery • 21 West 10th Street
Celebrate 100 years of art at Edinboro University with this History of the Edinboro Animation Program. See works from the university’s permanent collection including original pieces by Warner Brothers animator Chuck Jones, pieces from Disney studios, as well as work by local animators and current Edinboro faculty. Refreshments provided.

AWE Gallery at the Palace Center • 915 State Street
Say so long to Summer with the Fall Open Call. Artists from Chroma, NPAA, PIAA and Basement Transmissions received an invitation to submit work for the show. Enjoy live music, poetry and refreshments.

Crime Victim Center • 125 West 18th Street
Boogie on down to the Crime Victim Center to take a look at the art created during Mid-Day Dance Break. Now in its sixth year, this collaboration with Jennifer Dennehy raises awareness for the healing power of art and dance. Light refreshments provided.

D’Hopkins Denniston Gallery • 5 West 10th Street
We’ve got a show you don’t want to miss! Join us for our Unforgettable Art on the Town collection featuring great masters from the past and the present from private collections and available for purchase. Light refreshments provided.

Ember + Forge • 401 State Street
Meet the nine Erie Center for Art & Technology’s photojournalism students from Collegiate Academy, Erie High and McDowell as they unveil their final project What’s Your Story?. Grab vegan treats by Sundae and enjoy vinyl tunes spun by Steve Maynard.

Erie Art Gallery • 24 West 8th Street
Sample light hors d’oeuvres and sip on a refreshing beverage while taking in The Blood Black Nothing; a series of drawings in white and red pastel on black paper exploring the ever-present existential crisis of local artist, Kris Risto.

Garnon Truck Equipment • 1617 Peninsula Drive
Stop by and see the work of Nathaniel Hale Garnon. The exhibition features a single massive oil painting measuring 15 x 9 feet created for the Summer 2019 Exhibition, along with a handful of brand new works. Meet Nathaniel and enjoy live entertainment.

The architecture of the Erie Masonic Temple is a work of art in itself. Don’t miss this opportunity to tour the 109-year old building. See its elegant grand ballroom, lodge room, dining room, plus many other beautiful architectural details. Guided tours and light refreshments provided.

Stop by and visit the newly renovated Molly Brannigan’s Irish Pub! Sample new menu items and drinks as you stroll the Shebeen featuring local artist, Helen Tullio. Enter your name for a chance to win a $100.00 gift card.

Sovereign Ballet • 2539 West 12th Street
Get a sneak peek at Forbidden by Definition, a look at past and present black American and African culture. The full dance production will be performed in February 2020 by Sovereign Ballet, Dafmark Dance Theatre and Rod Rodgers Dance Company, NYC. Light refreshments provided.

Step back in time with The Summer of ‘69: Fifty Years On, a collection of authentic rock posters from 1969 from the collection of Steve Wood (formerly Bayfront Gallery). Enjoy complimentary refreshments as you take in some “artifacts” of the area, including period works from local op-art hero Roy Ahlgren.
