Professional teaching artists are at the heart of Erie Arts & Culture’s Arts in Education Program. Each artist is selected through an application process administered through Erie Arts & Culture. Selected artists must meet specific criteria, including demonstration of professional artistic excellence and ability to communicate their art form in an educational setting.
Applicants present a portfolio, are interviewed by an independent panel, and are then observed in a residency setting. All artists approved for the program hold the necessary security clearances for working with youth. Copies of clearances are available upon request from Erie Arts & Culture.
