Bridge Studios: Connecting People to Purpose Through Music

Since opening in November 2020, Bridge Studios has become a consistent and visible presence in Titusville and the surrounding communities, offering accessible music education alongside regular opportunities for public performance. Guided by the mission Connecting People to Purpose through Music, the organization focuses on music as a tool for personal growth, confidence-building, and community bridge-building.

Bridge Studios serves music students of all ages and backgrounds through a combination of private instruction, ensemble experiences, and community events. In addition to lessons, the organization provides access to instruments and practice space, hosts workshops and summer camps, and programs welcoming performances for students at every stage of musical development.

Programs and Learning Opportunities

Over the past year, Bridge Studios offered a wide range of arts activities that supported both individual learning and shared artistic experiences, including:

  • Weekly Youth Choir rehearsals with two public performances. This is currently on hold as the school district serves this need.

  • Open Stage Nights, held regularly to give students and instructors of all skill levels a low-pressure opportunity to perform for family and friends

  • Spring and Christmas Spotlight Performances featuring advanced beginner, intermediate, and advanced students

  • Summer outdoor concerts showcasing student and instructor bands

  • Weekly student band rehearsals during the spring

  • A growing Summer Music Camp program for elementary-age students

  • An average of 80 private music lessons per week, year-round, taught by professional instructors in voice, piano, violin, guitar, drums, and beginner band

Across all programs, Bridge Studios emphasizes steady progress, consistency, and opportunities for students to share their work publicly. All musicians can attest, this combination of support is a critical part of building students’ confidence and engagement.

Community Impact

In the past year alone, Bridge Studios provided more than 4,000 music lessons, with approximately 15% supported through its scholarship program, helping reduce financial barriers for low-income families. Since opening, the organization has delivered more than 17,000 lessons, reaching children, teens, and adults throughout the region.

Beyond the studio, Bridge Studios regularly contributes to community life in Titusville through performances at local events and collaborations with other organizations. Students and instructors have participated in Titusville’s Oil Days Festival, the Art Council’s Community Day concerts, Concert in the Park and fundraisers supporting a variety of local causes.

In 2025, Bridge Studios launched Party in the Park, a free summer event that combined live music with family-friendly activities and community involvement. The event drew several hundred attendees and was supported by volunteers, students, families, and local businesses. Be sure to attend Party in the Park in Scheide Park on July 10, 2026!

Looking Ahead

Bridge Studios remains focused on expanding access to music education while maintaining the quality and consistency of its offerings. Priorities include sustaining and growing the scholarship fund, increasing community performance opportunities, and strengthening partnerships with local instructors and organizations.

Through a balance of education, performance, and community engagement, Bridge Studios continues to contribute meaningfully to the cultural life of Titusville, supporting individuals at every stage of their musical journey while fostering shared experiences that bring people together through music.

Artistic programming at Bridge Studios is led by co-founder and Director David Southwick and instructor Jessica Mohnkern, who coordinate lessons, ensembles, and performances throughout the year. Summer camp programming is led by Amy Baker, with support from instructors and student leaders.
