Carla B. Hughes Memorial Dance Grant
The Carla B. Hughes Memorial Dance Grant offers merit-based grants for Erie County dancers, instructors, and choreographers. This new program recognizes the immeasurable impact Ms. Hughes had on the Erie dance community.

Amount: $1,000 awarded to one choreographer/educator and $500 to one dancer

Grant Activity Period: September - August
Notification Date: August 31st

"Unrestricted" means that grantees can use the funds as they see fit. This includes expenses directly related to their creative practice as well as personal expenses that contribute to the artist's livelihood, like childcare and travel.

Must be at least 18 years old
Must be a current resident of Erie County, PA
Must not be a member of Erie Arts and Culture’s Board of Trustees, subcommittees, or staff, or an immediate relative thereof
Be a practicing dance/movement artist creating original work with a demonstrated commitment to advancing their professional creative career.
