Artist Statement, Mural Making Process, and Art Style(s)
I create murals by printing onto sheets of polytab and adhering them to exterior surfaces. I create my imagery using printmaking techniques like linoleum relief-printing and screenprinting. Using these techniques gives my murals a unique visual quality. My murals use repeated imagery, which is tied to the tradition of printmaking. I print all of the mural material beforehand and apply it to the exterior site using glue. The process is similar to wheat-pasting, and the installation is typically quicker than a painted mural. The glued polytab is incredibly resilient and should last as long as a painted mural.
