Mary Arete Moodey

Mary Moodey holds an M.F.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and an M.A in Education from Allegheny College. After graduate school, she collaborated with an Allegheny professor and dancer in developing an intergrated arts and science program for children and teachers. When working with students, Moodey incorporates the rhythm of language with movement, so that students can experience the energy their words, images, and stories convey.

Her focus is: Creative Writing, Movement, and Storytelling.

Residency History:

  • Has assisted in teaching a creative writing arts integration course to fifth grade students.

  • Taught poetry and visual art to first, second, and fourth grade students.
