When were you all introduced to Art? And, what impression did it leave on you?

We were all introduced to art at very young ages. Most of us come from very creative households and have our parents to thank for being our first introduction into art and communication through visual expression.

What's a work that has left a lasting impression on your team?

We spend a lot of time focusing on process so we tend to be inspired by processes and efforts vs individual pieces.  We love, study and are obsessed with all things black culture, forever evolving, intersectionally and globally. Lately We have been all over Audrey Lorde, and Octavia Butler. We love the Guerilla Girls formation and messaging, Tristan Eaton's career particularly his work with Kid Robot and the development of toy culture.  Most of all, we are inspired by our ancestors and are honored to be able to channel that inspiration into our creative work.

How do you feel that your works affect others?

This one is a question for others. We can tell you how we feel when we create the work. We tend to focus on play, aesthetics and autonomy and we hope that those themes/feelings are transferred.

What is your opinion on the rise of A.I. generated Art?

The collective is straight split on artificial intelligence. Some of the members love the possibilities and the ease that it provides, particularly for administrative things, and generating pieces for collage work. other members feel that it is taking over the place that artist occupies. Oftentimes artists, creatives, women, and people of color have not been on the beneficial side of copyright laws, accessibility, and usage and we see this perhaps as being a space that could potentially balance that a bit. We love that our team is split in the center of this and we look forward to seeing how this balances out.

Should Art have a limit or boundary? Why?

Nope. Because art is a catalyst for exploration and a reflection of culture. That being said Being without  boundaries requires the supreme responsibility of the artist and understanding of context, and content.

How would you like to evolve over the next 10 years?

We hope to stay present, aligned with purpose and receptive.

How does your Art contribute to the human experience?

We feel that it invites a broader narrative and opportunity to share stories and inspire new ones.
