Mini Printmaking
This introductory class will let you explore simple reduction block printing, or making an image by carving away at a rectangle. It might sound intimidating, but you can do it! You will create small print blocks from an easily carvable material, essentially making stamps from your own art.
We will explore both the spoon method and use a printing press to print our images onto paper.
You will leave the class with a handful of 4x6” to 5x7” prints of your work. And you can take your block home to keep trying new techniques even after the class is over.
Bring your ideas for what to carve. Simplicity in this art form goes a long way!
Participants must be 12 or older. Class is $30 per person. We will be using blades in this class to cut materials, so all participants under 18 must be accompanied by someone over the age of 18.
