Music at Noon - Penn State Behrend
The Dublin Guitar Quartet has dedicated its career with unwavering devotion to performing contemporary music, an aspect that makes the ensemble unique within its genre. With the help of eight and eleven-string guitars the quartet has created an original catalogue of arrangements by composers such Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Arvo Part and Gyorgy Ligeti.
The group will arrive in Erie on Sunday and spend the day Monday working with students at Diehl Elementary School and Penn State Behrend. Dublin Guitar Quartet’s international touring is supported by Culture Ireland. Tuesday’s Music at Noon concert is the final performance of their current U.S. tour, and is supported locally by Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Erie Arts and Culture, Penn State Behrend, and the Kay Logan Foundation.
