ROBERTO LUGO – juror of the 2021 Erie Art Museum Spring Show - featured at Edinboro U Art100 VASE zoom events April 9 and 16 At 6:00pm EST on Friday April 9 and 16, Edinboro University’s VASE (the Visiting Artist & Speaker Endowment committee) will present two events featuring the Erie Art Museum’s 98th Annual, 2021 Spring Show Juror, Roberto Lugo. Both are free and open to the public in honor of the centennial celebration of the university’s art program, ART 100. The link will be posted at www.BruceGallery.info and is listed below. Roberto Lugo is a ceramicist, social activist, spoken work poet and educator. Lugo works in porcelain and illuminates its aristocratic surfaces with imagery of poverty, inequity and injustices. Lugo’s works are multi-cultural mash-ups, traditional Europe and and Asian porcelain forms and techniques reimaged with a 21st-century street sensibility. Lugo has exhibited widely and is the recipient of numerous awards, most recently a 2019 Pew fellowship. For 23 years, VASE has partnered with the Erie Art Museum to identify and co-host a juror for the museum’s annual Spring Show.
