EmbracErie Erie Gives

Erie Arts & Culture is excited to announce our 2019 Erie Gives Day (August 13th) donations, in their entirety, will benefit our New Horizons initiative! Help us EmbracErie by bonding the city and its people.

New Horizons empowers residents, merchants, community organizers, artists, and culture-bearers to actively be involved in shaping the social character and built environment in their neighborhoods. The initiative, in the first three years, focuses on neighborhoods in the 16501, 16502,16503, and 16507 zip codes. These are the neighborhoods that the City of Erie has identified in their comprehensive plan as the most in need of stabilization. Through this initiative, Erie Arts & Culture and its collaborating partners will enhance and activate public spaces by delivering accessible cultural programs and activities that tap into the creativity, imagination, experience, and wisdom of community members. Through the New Horizons initiative, we aim to identify and then directly address systems that have perpetuated neighborhood disparities.

Tiffanie Page-Collazo, New Horizons' Community Organizer, will be popping up around the city on Erie Gives Day (August 13, 2019) with give-a-ways and our DipJars to make donating easy and fun! As Erie Gives approaches, stay tuned to our social media outlets to find out when and where she can be found!

Erie Gives began in 2011 in honor of The Erie Community Foundation’s 75th Anniversary. Erie Gives 2019 will take place on August 13, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. During this 12-hour period of online giving, a portion of the prorated match pool will be added to each donation you make to your favorite nonprofit(s) when you donate through this website.

The New Horizons initiative is made possible through support by the Erie Community Foundation and Erie Insurance.
