The New Normal with Dr. Newton NoCovid

Many of our local students are hard at work using their talents to make the world a better place during this unprecedented year.

Edinboro University Studio Art major, Rebecca Bilski, is one such student. The main character of the book, Dr. Newton NoCovid, shares tips about how schools can successfully respond to "The New Normal" during the 2020 pandemic.

The book is available online at BAM, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop, Amazon, and Powell's.

About the artist:

Rebecca (Becca) Bilski attends Edinboro University of Pennsylvania where she is working towards a BFA in Studio Arts with a concentration in Illustration and minors in Creative Writing and Drawing.

Becca’s fondness for animals and the environment frequently inspires her art. Growing up on a rural farm on the outskirts of Erie, Pennsylvania makes Becca approach tasks with a resourceful manner and diligence combining a strong work ethic and a passion for the arts.

"When illustrating this book, I wished to provide children with an opportunity to learn about COIVD-19 through visual learning. I am a visual learner and often have to draw pictures to remember and understand new information. This was a struggle for me in childhood. So as an adult, I am now aiming to assist current students to cultivate their minds in a way that works best for them."
