ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Joel Brennan (b. 1980) was born into a family of artists and musicians in eastern NY. Growing up around traditional art forms, such as drawing and painting, helped shape and grow his interest and creativity as an artist. During his adolescence and early teenage years, he encountered graffiti through visits to NYC, which influenced his artistic aesthetic and career trajectory.
At the age of 19, Joel started tattooing, which began to shape his future as an artist - both personally as well as professionally and continues to this day.
Tattooing and graffiti have taken Joel coast to coast, international, and eventually landed him in Erie, Pa. Since moving to Erie in 2007, Joel has had the opportunity to start several art-based businesses. He has also worked with local businesses to design and create murals.
As an agency, we are committed to dismantling barriers and providing meaningful resources and training for creative and cultural professionals.
Erie Arts & Culture believes that creative and cultural professionals can play a central role in developing vibrant and healthy communities and neighborhoods when they are provided with access to Professional development, Resources, and Opportunities (PRO).
