For World Refugee Day 2020, Kelly Armor collaborated with four former refugee artists from Muslim-majority countries. They are all part of a current Erie Arts & Culture project funded through the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art's Building Bridges grant program.

Join Erie Arts & Culture for the next installment of the Creative Catalyst Speaker Series with a webinar by Dr. Jeffreen Hayes on June 30 at 6:00 PM. In this session, Dr. Hayes will discuss inequities in the art world and offer solutions. Her discussion will center ALAANA (African, Latinx, Arab, Asian, and Native American) artists as one simple step in beginning the work of righting wrongs that exist in the field.

As an agency, we identified financial literacy, the knowledge necessary to make important financial decisions, as one of the key topics that we wish to advance through ongoing educational workshops and webinars. Financial literacy is important because it equips us with a greater understanding of how to manage money effectively. Education in this area builds a foundation for recognizing how our financial decisions and the actions we take—or don't take—impact our current and future success and abilities to achieve our goals.

As counties in Pennsylvania transition to "green" in June, many creative and cultural organizations are both eager and apprehensive to reopen. During these unprecedented times, Erie Arts & Culture understands those feelings. One way we aim to assist is by providing resources and educational support for our creative and cultural organizations, both large and small.
On June 1, 2020, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts published "Reopening Safely: Tips and Resources to Prepare," a document that outlines best practices for reopening. Though some counties in PA remain in the yellow phase, this resource aims to help you strategically plan ahead for reopening.
